The days of WWE being the primary destination for most pro wrestlers seems to be coming to an end. With several promotions now willing to offer large amounts of money and creative freedom to certain wrestlers, more and more competitors are beginning to sign with smaller promotions in favor of WWE. Even wrestlers already signed to WWE are requesting their releases from the company so that they may begin working elsewhere. Tye Dillinger and Hideo Itami have been granted their releases already, but the likes of Dean Ambrose, The Revival, Mike Kanellis, and others are also waiting for their contracts with the company to expire. It looks like two more wrestlers from the WWE roster may be on their way out soon.
Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson were reportedly offered new WWE contracts recently and turned them down. According to PWInsider, both men were recently offered new deals which were said to be worth millions of dollars. The report noted that the duo are upset at the moment because they have not been featured in any prominent storylines as of late. They were also supposedly bothered by the company cancelling their WWE Network show “Botch Club” after only one episode. Following contract negotiations, the company has stopped booking them on live events. They are still being brought in for television taping though. Unless they decide to re-sign with WWE within the next few months, Anderson & Gallows will be finished in September.
Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s G1 Supercard show is coming together. The two promotions will be working together to present the event in the world famous Madison Square Garden arena in New York during the weekend of WrestleMania 35. Another match has just been added to the card, and that match is the Honor Rumble. This will be the eighth official Honor Rumble, and it will be taking place during the pre-show for the G1 Supercard. The Rumble will feature competitors from both ROH and NJPW, and as the name suggests, it will be an over-the-top-rope battle royale where wrestlers will enter at time intervals. Be sure to stay tuned for news on any Honor Rumble participants or other matches announced for the G1 Supercard.
