As noted, Kurt Angle appeared as a guest on Ric Flair’s new podcast, “The Ric Flair Show” on the same episode that UFC President Dana White was interviewed.
During his segment on the show, Angle spoke about Cody Rhodes, who he wrestles tonight at the Northeast Wrestling event at Dutchess Stadium in Wappingers Falls, New York.
“[Cody] is so talented, I picked him out a long time ago,” said Angle of the young star, who just recently parted ways with WWE to test the waters outside of the biggest promotion in the sport. “There are times when you really need to push somebody hard. I didn’t realize how entertaining outside of wrestling he could be until he did Stardust. I don’t know if Stardust was the right character for him, I was just impressed that he could do it.”
The former Olympic gold medalist also spoke about “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles, who he worked with many times throughout the years while both were in TNA.
“He has it all,” Angle said of Styles. “Psychology, technique, he knows when to fire up, he knows when to sell. The kid is just phenomenal at what he does.”
Angle admitted that he knew he would make it and succeed in WWE. According to Angle, he’s just surprised it took this long for it to happen.
“With AJ I just can’t believe it took him this long to get to WWE,” said Angle.
