When World Championship Wrestling was still in business, the promotion ran an event every year called Starrcade. The event was typically touted as the biggest show of the year for WCW, but after WWE bough the promotion in 2001, it seemed as if the pay-per-view would never return ever again. Fans were delighted when WWE announced that the they would be resurrecting the Starrcade event last year, but unfortunately, the event ended up serving as the name for a live event that was not televised. However, PWInsider has just reported that WWE has once again filed a trademark for ‘Starrcade’ recently. With the old WCW WarGames match set to return during NXT Takeover later this year, perhaps Starrcade will be coming back as a WWE Network special soon as well.
It has been rumored for quite a while now that Smackdown Superstar Jeff Hardy has been dealing with some injuries and may need to take some time off in order to recover. Those reports seemed to be validated when Hardy lost the United States Championship in mere seconds to Shinsuke Nakamura during WWE’s recent Extreme Rules event. However, Cageside Seats has noted that Hardy will now most likely continue to work on the road with WWE until SummerSlam. Hardy could be going on to face either Nakamura or Randy Orton in a match during the show next month, but after that, there is still definitely a possibility that Hardy will be leaving the ring for an unknown amount of time until his body heals up.

With the short-lived reunion of Team Hell No seemingly over, some would argue that there are no other top tag teams on the Smackdown roster left to face The Bludgeon Brothers for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. However, General Manager Paige did recently announce that there will be a 4-team tournament taking place over the next three weeks that ultimately decide Harper and Rowan’s opponents for SummerSlam in August. Paige has now just announced one of the tournament matches that will be taking place soon. The New Day and SAnitY will be facing off in a rematch from Extreme Rules during tomorrow’s edition of Smackdown as part of the tag team tournament. This would also mean that the other match in the tournament will be between The Usos and The Bar on a later date.
