It was announced earlier this year that Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling will be running a joint show together in Madison Square Garden for the very fist time ever. The G1 Supercard will arrive over WrestleMania 35 weekend in New York City. What makes this event so interesting is that the Madison Square Garden venue has traditionally been very loyal to WWE over the years. At one point, plans to host the event in the arena were even cancelled by MSG at WWE’s request. However, plans changed and the G1 Supercard is now once again set to take place as planned. The already sold-out show is currently scheduled to take place in “The World’s Most Famous Arena” on Saturday, April 6th in 2019.
The G1 Supercard had been set to take place on the exact same night as WWE’s NXT Takeover event on the night before WrestleMania 35. However, WWE officially announced today that the date for Takeover has been pushed forward by one day. NXT Takeover will now occur on Friday, April 5th while the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony has been moved to Saturday. As a result of the date change, fans in New York will no longer have to choose between either attending the G1 Supercard or NXT Takeover. These shows are just a few of the festivities planned for WrestleMania 35 weekend in the area. The weekend will be closed out by WrestleMania 35 on Sunday, April 7th, and then by Raw and SmackDown the following Monday and Tuesday.
Although it looks like The Elite are on their way out of Ring of Honor this month to possibly start their very own promotion in 2019, ROH has just signed two huge names in the industry to its roster. PWInsider has revealed that Pierre Carl Ouellet (aka PCO) has signed a contract with ROH and will debut for the promotion shortly. PCO will be leaving MLW to join ROH very soon. Also, the Wrestling Observer and PWInsider have confirmed that Brody King has also just signed on to join ROH. King will be exclusive to Ring of Honor, and he is said to be finishing up his current indie obligations at the moment. King’s deal has been completed for weeks now, and he is expected to begin working for the promotion at the end of the month.

The biggest contract and opportunity of my career!
