WWE Smackdown Results

Report by Mike Killam for ProWrestling.com
The Miz made his way to the ring to kick off the show for the first time in over a year, with the Miz TV gimmick already set up in the ring. He talked about how happy he was to finally be back on Smackdown Live calling it a fresh opportunity, and claimed to be a brand new man after welcoming his baby girl Monroe Sky in the world.
Miz brought up how he was supposed to have this “big confrontation” with Daniel Bryan tonight, and started comparing the two for their reality shows and their successes in and out of WWE. He claimed that with the birth of his daughter it’s put everything into perspective for him and to be honest, he’s apparently put all the drama between them over the years to rest. Miz wonders why Daniel can’t do the same thing, and said it must be that he and Monroe just have a special bond that Bryan and Birdie just can’t fully comprehend. Big heat for that statement.
The crowd started chanting for their favorite superstar and Miz eventually just gave up and said that if Bryan really couldn’t get over his problems, he could come out and punch him in the face if that’s what he absolutely needs to do. Loud “YES” and “DANIEL BRYAN” chants rang out until Big Cass’ music hit, and the recently drafted big man came out to a very unhappy audience.
Cass told the Miz that he’s looking at his new interview for the evening. Miz said that he was supposed to be interviewing Daniel Bryan and Cass absolutely lost his mind at the very mention of his name. He want into a long, rambling promo about how he used to be small and scrawny, and was bullied his entire life until one day he grew up to be seven feet tall (and you can’t teach that). Cass talked about Bryan’s “life threatening” injury and gloated about coming back from his own injury in nine months, and being a legitimate superstars despite never having to work in bingo halls. He claimed that Daniel reminds him of himself when he was a small, helpless nobody and that’s the reason why he hates him and the entire “Yes Movement”. Before the Miz could even ask a follow-up question, Cass started mocking the fans doing a “YES” chant and threw the microphone on the ground, walking to the back.
